Parents' Perspective

[music playing] Bulldog Family and Friends Weekend is in October, and it's an opportunity for families to connect to not only the university, but to the Big Rapids community. It's also an opportunity for them to connect with their Bulldog in their new environment and see what they do on a day-to-day basis in the community. We have a Bulldog Family and Friends newsletter that we've created to help parents navigate the college process. The newsletter provides a ton of information for parents. It talks about different happenings on campus. It also talks about different things that you should be accomplishing, like financial aid and scholarships and things that are available out there. I think as a parent, it's just a good communication tool as a backup to our students. My son was not too sure that he wanted to go to college. And we attended a Dog Day. And from the moment we walked into this building to the moment we left, it was a great experience. When we left, he got into the car, and he said, "yeah, I'm going to be a Bulldog. I can do this." And you have a university that gives him those opportunities. It's nice. [music playing]
