Our campus is pleasant to walk and very safe. Most of our buildings can be reached in less than 15 minutes on foot. We also have a free shuttle, on campus parking, and beautiful greenspaces.
The Ferris State University campus is an extremely safe campus. It's pretty hard to walk or drive around this campus without seeing a police officer. Ferris has a full and professional 24/7 police department. So there are police officers on duty all year round, 24 hours a day. And we also have a functioning non-emergency dispatch 24 hours a day. And when you consider geographically how small we are, we have very quick response times.
I think campus feels safe in general. I've never had any issues with anything. Like, everything was very close by and I didn't really have to worry about anything that I needed. Everything was right next to me.
It is very convenient to get around. It takes, the max, 15 minutes to get to my classes. And then they also have a shuttle. So if it's cold outside, you can just get on the shuttle, and it's free to students.
There's some nice green space. There's some really neat places that you'll see students accumulate, and visit, study, etc., outside. We have parking interior and on the outskirts of campus. But we did add almost 50 spots last year a really prime parking. We're constantly looking at parking, and readjusting, and trying to fit our needs.
